Tiny Warrior: A Journal For NICU Families

I did something new. As you know, if you’ve been around for a while, I created this blog as a means to share my daughter, Scarlett’s, story. Scarlett was a micro-preemie born at 23 weeks and 6 days (you can read her story HERE), and ever since she’s come home I have taken the time to digest our NICU journey (and my traumatic introduction to motherhood) by using this blog. Not only has this blog been extremely therapeutic for me but it has also been an amazing platform to share our testimony and connect with fellow mamas of preemies.

I’ve since moved on to creating YouTube videos (which can be found HERE) that focus on sharing our daily life, motherhood, my personal lifestyle, as well as advice for NICU families.

Have you found the common thread yet?

At the core, the foundation – is what I call it, my true purpose for it all has been to HELP, ENCOURAGE and INSPIRE other families with preemies who have (or are currently) walking through their NICU season of life. When I was experiencing our own journey, I searched and searched for things that focused on not just motherhood, but PREEMIE-HOOD, specifically. Sadly, I didn’t find very much. So I have made it a personal mission of sorts to be that resource for other mama’s. Who, just like me, are searching for ways to connect with mama’s who GET IT. Mama’s who can relate to the path you’re on in motherhood and be that comfort and support.

Which brings me to the new thing I’ve done. Not the smoothest transition but hey, I’m tryin’ here! Lol.

I have always wanted to help families in any way I can. After thinking back on our own NICU experience I tried to remember what resources were available, or wished was available, in order to help make that time easier for me and my family. Which is how I came up with the idea to create a “NICU Journal”. This Journal is a product of both my talent to create & my passion to help NICU families. I’ve designed this journal in digital format to be downloaded and saved so that families can customize it as they continue on their NICU adventure. Inside this journal, families will find many pages that will help in documenting their Tiny Warrior’s story as well as spaces to keep track of things like contact lists, visitors, daily thoughts and prayers, and so much more.

When you are in the thick of it with your tiny fighter, it can be overwhelming to keep track of all that is going on, things like which questions you wanted to ask, and what the latest lab results were. Things like who cared for your baby on what day tend to slip your mind easily when you are under the stress and worries of your child’s wellbeing. I often carried around a notebook with me in order to keep track of all the aforementioned topics. However, I wished I could have been able to keep track of all of these things together, which is why I created the journal the way that I have.

Each NICU experience is as unique as the Tiny Warrior families are supporting. Some NICU stays are short, while others are longer. Some have happy outcomes while others are heartbreaking. Some are a mixture of both. Either way, I wanted this journal to be customizable for every family’s journey. I know this isn’t the best format option, but it is all I can offer right now.

I pray that it is helpful and a useful tool for families to document their Tiny Warrior’s journey in the best way possible. Someday, I hope to be able to offer this in a physical format, but until then I pray that this helps as many families of Tiny Warriors as possible. To purchase a journal for yourself or a NICU family you know of, just send payment through Paypal using the pay button below. Be sure to leave your email address in the note section so that I can send you the PDF link for you to download. You can then save it to your computer and print as many copies of each page as you need.

Love Always,
